He was taken from the residence of his owners by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on October 30, 2024, and was put down two days later. Widespread public outrage followed the conduct, including condemnation from multiple MPs, social media outcry, and a proposed measure to stop future occurrences of the same kind.
